About Spice Hounds

In 2020, we began growing hot pepper varieties we could not find locally at our home garden in Eliot, Maine. Over the years, our operation has grown to hundreds of peppers ranging from mild to outright ferocious in heat, with our harvest covering the counters and overflowing the freezer.

While our love of hot sauce goes way back, more recently we began to experiment with various fermentation processes and realized that we could extract surprisingly complex and interesting flavors from simple ingredients. By growing and crafting ingredients ourselves, we're able to keep our prices as accessible.

Our dog, Georgie, is a constant companion in both the garden and the kitchen. On our labels, you will find cartoon portraits of her alongside the dogs of our friends and family.

Spice Hounds is committed to giving 5% of all profits to humane societies in Maine and New Hampshire. Whether you try our Habanero, Aji Amarillo, Scorpion, or Golden Miasma Hot Sauces, your purchase helps support animals across the region.
